Hanalei Bay Resort overlooks Hanalei Bay from a tropical, lush 28 acres in Princeville. Beautiful ocean and Bali Hai views are everywhere on this property. Beach access is provided down a long, fair grade, paved path, and the resort staff offer convenient golf cart rides to the beach below.

This lovely studio unit will make a great location for your next vacation! Private, quite, mountain and garden views. Conveniently located close to the pool, tennis courts and hot tub, as well as the parking area. The county of Kauai does not permit this studio to have a kitchen. There is only a coffee maker, blender and electric tea kettle.

  We Loved our time at Hanalei Bay resort. We loved the convenience of the location of unit 1557 - close to the entrance and resort restaurants as well as to the parking. We really liked having a designated and well equipped kitchenette in the unit which our previous years unit did not have. Our only complaint - way too few hangers in the closet . We would definately book this unit again

  Although the room was clean and for the most part you interact with the front desk, actually getting a hold of the host for this particular AirBnB is impossible. We reached out on several occasions and never got a response. In fact, after sending a message it would tell you the host’s typical response time is 11 hrs. Who doesn’t respond to their guests until half a day has gone by?
  
  Some of what happened was definitely our fault, when booking we accidentally shorted ourself a day and didn’t realize it until we got an auto text reminding us to checkout a day early. This is when we tried to contact Kristen but never heard back.
  
  If you are expecting to have your host be available to communicate should you have issues, I would not suggest this rental.

  This property is a great value for the location. Overall if you’re looking for one of the best locations in Kauai on a budget, I would highly recommend.
  
  Positives:
  - This condo was significantly more affordable than other condos available for rent on Hanalei Bay Resort, it was worth it just to stay at the resort for a decent price
  -It was clean with a VERY comfortable bed & AC.
  -Two of the best beaches (Hanalei Bay & Hideaway) are within brisk walking distance
  - Loved waking up to the sound of the jungle from a large balcony each morning
  -The resort shares a beach with the luxurious 1 Hotel (brand new in the last year)- has a great beach/pool bar bar open to the public; also Welina Terrace bar & restaurant - great spot for sunset drinks/ dinner
  
  Negatives:
  -The closet in the bathroom smells like cat litter (???), made the whole bathroom stink. I am pregnant & sensitive to smells, had to keep the bathroom door closed at all times soas not to let the smell get into the room.
  
  - The kitchen was missing a few basic amenities like a sharp cutting knife. Had to use a butter knife all week to cut fruit or open my travel protein packs 🤪 they also provide just one small bag of coffee to get you through the first day but no cream / sugar. Just seemed to me a little cheap to not offer cream/sugar packets
  
  - the location of this condo is at the back / side of the resort near employee parking. We actually liked it bc you could park really close (get in/out quickly) but you do have to walk by the dumpsters etc to get to it
  
  - As per very strict instructions with the AC and the refrigerator, we tried not to overuse anything. We only turned on AC at night at 72 degrees, but despite that, after 4 nights the AC started rattling and making super loud noises.... The refrigerator would only cool things to a “Luke cool” - I had yogurt that spoiled bc it wasn’t staying cold

  A great bed, clean shower, and great towels - this studio is very simple and perfect when you plan to be outside and out and about for most of your trip.
  
  The nightly price is very competitive for HBR - I searched long and hard for the "best" studio to suite my needs and budget.
  
  Two suggestions - add a note in the description about the incredibly steep walkway to get to the condo - I'm still in awe that it meets any code anywhere but navigated it ok. tricky with groceries.
  And give the condo a REALLY good cleaning - especially the ceiling - dust bunnies hang all over the ceiling and on occasion the fan blows them down on the bed.
  
  While HBR has seen better days, the pool is an oasis and the views are breathtaking,

  We left the bitter cold to come to the islands and thaw out. And it worked! We even returned to the Midwest with some sunshine and Springtime warmth. We bounced around and stayed at several places and this unit was a great place and this unit was our favorite place to stay.

  Hanalei Bay Resort is nice. But there are different levels of condo for sure. Ours was more affordable than others and we learned upon arriving that we had to walk past the dumpsters and loading docks to get to it, like it's where the staff lives. The unit itself was flawed, with loose towel racks & burned out light bulbs and it was not all that clean. It is true and fair that the king bed was EXCELLENT as were the pillows and linens. Princeville in general is pretty square and you can't get a cup of coffee anywhere on the property. But the bar is cool and the landscape design is A+

  The property was very clean and accurately described. The bed was super comfortable! The resort staff were very accommodating and welcoming from the moment you pulled up to check-in. My wife and I enjoyed the peacefulness and walks down to the beach with our coffees in the morning. Many of those mornings we were treated with amazing views of morning rainbows across Hanalei Bay. Would definitely stay here again!

  Thank you. It was a lovely trip. We enjoyed hearing the tropical birds each morning, the use of the amenities of the resort and easy access to the north shore. My only complaint was the septic sewer smell on some mornings! It was undeniable. The front desk said it was due to the way the winds were blowing! That said, it was not nice. Otherwise, not many more complaints.
